Community Calendar Policy is a website organized and moderated by the Town of Apex that allows the community and Town staff to post community events in a location to be viewed by the general public. “Community event” means any charitable, educational, cultural or recreational event taking place within the Town of Apex.


The Think Apex Community Calendar is open to the Apex community as a common place to post events. Submission of events by members of the public constitutes participation in a limited public forum.

All events submitted to the Think Apex Community Calendar are subject to public disclosure, under applicable local, state and/or Federal law.

The Town reserves the right to restrict or remove any content at its discretion.


All event postings shall be moderated by a Town-authorized calendar moderator, who shall review and approve all event submissions for conformance to Acceptable Event standards.

Items submitted for consideration to be posted on the Think Apex calendar shall be reviewed during business hours (8 am – 5 pm) Monday through Friday. Items submitted after business hours on Fridays and over the weekends may not be reviewed for posting until the following business week.

Acceptable Events

The Community Calendar is established for civic, charitable, non-profit, educational, and governmental organizations.   It is not the intent of the Community Calendar to promote private businesses or industry.  Those not supporting or related to the above, may be refused permission to post on the Community Calendar.

Notices and announcements should include and shall be limited to:

  • The name of the group, organization or person sponsoring the event
  • A concise description of the event including admission fees or costs, who is invited, etc.
  • Date and time of the event
  • Location
  • Picture of event or group

*The Town reserves the right to edit or request more information prior to or after posting.

Events submitted to the Think Apex Community Calendar containing any of the following forms of content shall not be allowed for posting:

  • Profane or offensive language or content;
  • Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation;
  • Sexual content or links to sexual content;
  • Solicitations of commerce;
  • Political events;
  • Conduct or encouragement of illegal activity;
  • Information that may tend to compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems; or
  • Content that violates a legal ownership interest of any other party

The calendar moderator may allow posting of events which are within the purpose of the limited public forum, with the exception of the prohibited content listed above.

Event Location

Events posted on the Think Apex Community Calendar should be located within Apex town limits.

Author Identification

All Town of Apex public event submitters shall be clearly identified by their event submissions. Anonymous posting of events shall not be allowed.

All event postings shall be accompanied by valid event submitter contact information including a name, email address and phone number.


The Think Apex Community Calendar is provided as a community service to Town of Apex citizens and community organizations. Though the calendar is moderated for posting acceptable events, the Town of Apex does not endorse nor verify the information included. If an entry includes a link to a web site that is not a part of, the Town does not control or review the content or operation of that web site. The Town of Apex guarantees neither the authenticity, accuracy, appropriateness nor security of the link, web site or content linked thereto. The Town of Apex urges you to exercise caution when accessing any unfamiliar web site.
